Christmas Lights Switch-on

People will have seen that Christmas goods have started to appear in local shops, & to promote Christmas shopping in the town Maryport Christmas lights will be switched-on on Saturday 15 November. The Town Council will be making arrangements for a programme of family entertainment, with children at its heart of course, to be held during the afternoon of that day.

The outdoor stage will showcase the areas’ talented entertainers, ably hosted by the fabulous Cookie, commencing at 1pm, & there will be fairground rides for the little ones on upper Senhouse Street from late morning.

Tea & Coffee will be freely available throughout the afternoon, & later on we hope to have mince pies & mulled wine on offer.

With the kind courtesy of the Labour Club management, Santa will be hosting his grotto there once again, and Benkin will be providing some seasonal face-painting, free to all. A visit to Santa’s grotto will require a ticket & the Town Council’s social media sites will provide further details on how to get tickets nearer the time.

The big switch-on will be at 5pm!
