Grants

Many of the events which the Council supports were cancelled in 2020/21, but the Council has provided additional support for organisations enable them to keep operating. In addition, the Council provided funding for schools in the area to enable them to provide tablets & lap tops for deprived pupils during lockdown, after funding promised by the government did not materialise. The Council provided grants totalling over £40,000 to the following organisations in 2020/21:

 

  • Maryport Harbour Authority: Harbour Ladder Maintenance
  • Citizens’ Advice Bureau: Funding to support Maryport service
  • Maryport Inshore Rescue: Call-out & Organisational Data system
  • Maryport Maritime Museum: Free Entry CA15 residents & Schools’ support
  • Netherhall School: Annual Prizes
  • Maryport Sea Cadets: Sea Bin funding
  • Maryport Amateur Football Club: Deprived children’s fees & Facilities Hire
  • Flimby Over-60’s Club: Operating costs
  • 1st Flimby Girls’ Brigade: Insurance
  • Netherhall Rugby Union Football Club: Ground Maintenance
  • Owl Blue Charity: Operational Facilities
  • Senhouse Museum: Operational support
  • Maryport Settlement: Heritage Plaque & Schools’ Project
  • Kaleidoscope Art Group: Art Group Tutor & Promotions
  • Great North Air Ambulance: Emergency Service support
  • Ellenborough & Ewanrigg Infant School: School pupils Tablets & Laptops
  • Our Lady & St Patrick’s Primary School: School pupils Tablets & Laptops
  • Netherton Infant School: School pupils Tablets & Laptops
  • Ewanrigg Junior School: School pupils Tablets & Laptops
  • Grasslot Infant Schools: School pupils Tablets & Laptops
