Along with the rest of the world, the area has seen the loss of many loved ones to the Covid 19 virus. The community has also shown its support for the NHS & other key workers who helped to keep things running during the pandemic. As a lasting memorial, the Council is arranging for commemorative trees to be planted at Flimby Green & Maryport Memorial Gardens, each of which will be augmented by a circular seat where people can sit & reflect. In addition, the Council has commissioned two memorial seats to reflect the respect which the community has for the area’s NHS & Key workers, to be located at Flimby Cemetery & Maryport Memorial Gardens.
