Judging for Maryport & Flimby’s Best Kept Garden & Container Competition took place on 17 July. An earlier date had been agreed than for previous years & after three weeks of lovely weather, garden & container displays were looking fabulous. Council members found it very difficult to choose between them, the standard was so high, but after much consideration agreed the following:
Large Garden

- Runner-up Mr & Mrs Fisher, Nether View, Maryport
Small Garden
- Winner Neil Little, Pecklewell Terrace, Maryport
- Runner-up Margaret Greenop, School Close, Flimby
