The Council is supporting Allerdale’s scheme offering grant funding to help shop and home owners, tenants and landlords to improve the external appearance of their properties in Maryport Town Centre.
The aim is to improve the appeal of the town to the local community and visitors alike. Grants of up to £900 are available from Allerdale Borough Council to those living or working in buildings with a frontage on a street in the town centre.
The Town Council is funding shop screens which improve the appearance of the area by disguising unused shop frontages. Permission is being sought from owners of such properties to facilitate these improvements.
