The Council has arranged for the provision of some additional information boards to be displayed on Shipping Brow, in support of those covering Maryport’s nautical and roman connections already in place.
The latest ones will provide a brief but hopefully interesting summary of the Maryport and Carlisle Railway and the town’s social history. Whilst primarily contributing to the tourist experience, no doubt there will be something in the information provided which is of interest to the local community.
In addition, it has arranged for the replacement of the damaged board depicting ‘Castle Holme’, which is attached to a sandstone block on the footpath below Mote Hill.
