Working with Cumbria County Council, the Town Council has provided funding towards improvement works to Maryport foreshore & Flimby Great Woods. People may have noticed that the semi-circular stone wall bounded seating area near the sea front at Risehow was not far from the sea cliffs, following sea erosion.
The Council has contributed to the cost of works to relocate the seating area to a safer place. Improvements have also been made to paths in the area.
In addition, following damage to footpaths during the December flooding, the Council is contributing towards improvement works in Flimby Great Wood, including culvert replacement, bridge & steps work, as well as resurfacing of footpaths.
