Maryport Town Council works alongside Maryport Extended Schools Partnership and attends the local Schools’ Council Meetings, which is a group of representative pupils from each of the primary schools in the area. The children come up with ideas for fundraising and fun.
The 2014 Fun Day was organised by Maryport Town Council, developed from the children’s ideas. All the entertainment was paid for by the Town Council, & some 1,000 people attended on a sunny day in August. A variety of fun events were provided free of charge, including a Treasure Hunt, with Treasure & a free Ice Cream as prizes if all answers were correct, Face Painting, Bouncy Castle, Bungee Eliminator, Music, Sweets & well known Children’s Characters from the world of TV & Film.
