Maryport Amateur Operatic & Dramatics Society

Maryport Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society was formed on 3rd July 1913 with its first production being ‘The Pirates of Penzance’. Roll forward 99 years to 2012 and the Junior Section was reformed, producing the classic musical ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’.

MAODS for short continues to grow from strength to strength. The society aims to put on two productions and a concert annually, most recently at the Carnegie Theatre in Workington.

The Juniors section is known as ‘Spotlight on MAODS’ & meets regularly on Wednesdays at Netherhall School, Maryport. Children between the ages of 8 &17 who would love to join our society should make contact by sending a message to [email protected] or contacting ‘Spotlight on MAODS’ Facebook page, where they can have a chat.

Adults are also welcome to join the society and rehearsals are announced through the ‘Maryport Aods’ Facebook page.

MAODS holds regular society fundraisers, trips to shows and get-togethers throughout the year and welcomes new members with open arms!
