Both Flimby & Maryport Carnivals are funded by the Town Council with grants amounting to £5,500. Flimby saw some bad weather on the day, yet still the village people came out to show their support, Flimby incorporates a scarecrow festival on the same weekend which was also well supported. Maryport Carnival always attracts people from far and wide & was lucky enough to have some beautiful weather for this year’s event. There were some great entries in this year’s event, with the winners judged by the Mayor Linda Radcliffe & her assistant, Councillor David Peggs.
