The regeneration works being carried out in the town have seen Shiver Me Timbers being totally renewed with funding from the government & the works being carried out by Cumberland Council. Shiver Me Timbers was re-opened on 17th December 2024, with local schools invited and Border TV News in attendance. The facility was officially opened by Councillor Carni McCarron Holmes, along with Mitch & Mickie, who had made a video that they had put together which included footage from the area from start to finish of the works being carried out. The opening event was very well attended and the park has been extremely busy each day ever since. The Town Council, as the owner of the equipment, works in partnership with the Lake District Coast Aquarium for the day-to-day running and management of the facility. We look forward to some sunny weather to see the splash pad area be put to use.
