Christmas Lights Switch-on

Maryport Christmas Lights will be switched on at 5pm on Saturday 28 November by Town Council Mayor Peter Kendall, ably assisted by Santa, via a virtual switch-on ceremony. The switch-on will be preceded by an afternoon of fun & entertainment for children courtesy of Cookie & friends, with guest appearances from other children’s characters, including the Disney Princesses. The entertainment will include songs & activities, stories & a quiz, with a special message from Santa. Following the switch-on, viewers will be treated to a live drive-by of the Maryport Christmas lights!

Care Workers & other Essential Workers

Along with the community, the Council places a high value on the efforts of our care workers & other essential workers, & particularly so through the current pandemic period. Recognition has been given through the display of banners of support in Flimby & Maryport, & the delivery of baskets of fruit for workers at care centres.
